Welcome to the Big Red Sofa!
I’d sit down with you for a minute if I could. You see, on Friday I lifted my foot and my lower back spasmed like it hasn’t done in a very long time.
So, three days later, essential oils, some ibuprofen, a few back exercises, and lots of rest and…it’s a little better. Hopefully that trend will continue this week.
Here’s what it reminded me of though. Winter is hard in the mountains and it’s hard to get out before or after work to exercise. It’s dark and cold and often snowy. So my forward motion towards health has taken a few steps backward (like about 10 lbs backwards!). But now it’s June and I can’t use the weather as an excuse anymore.
I kept thinking as the weather got warmer, I’d get back on track. That hasn’t happened so much though. But when you struggle to sit in a chair, it’s a good reminder that my health and weight can no longer be on the back burner.
Time to Gear Up!
So I’m gearing up again to make better food choices along with choosing to exercise again. You guys can pray for me, and help hold me accountable. Because I know I can’t do it all on my own. I’ll keep you posted on my progress and let you know how my back fares too. Maybe you have some things you are working on that you would like to share in the comments so we can encourage one another as we gear up to reach those goals.
And maybe we can celebrate together in a few months.
