Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Complete in Love
How many of us dreamed of being made complete by finding our one true love? And how many of us had our hopes dashed when that didn’t happen or when it did and then it didn’t? I’m raising my hand right next to you!
But the encouragement for me from these verses is that we can be complete in love through God. He is love. So he has loved us. And then he tells us to love others. So that they can know His love. And the circle is complete in love.
I don’t know where you are in this circle today. Some days I’m squarely in the middle of it and other days, not so much. I either forget that I am loved completely, or I fail to love my fellow human beings with anything even remotely approaching completeness.
But that’s where I have to let God’s love take over. When His love resides in me and I can allow it to flow through me to others, regardless of how I feel or want to feel, then the circle is complete. And we are all complete in love.
