forgotten

So it’s Tuesday, right? And what have we done on Tuesdays for the last several years? We’ve gathered here to share our stories about how God is working. Every week. Like clockwork.

What did I forget about yesterday? Testimony Tuesday. What in the world? It was a busy day yesterday, I had some company last night, and I wanted to watch Dancing with the Stars. But really I have no excuse…except that clearly my brain is tired. 🙂 Until I got up this morning and the first thing I thought of was Testimony Tuesday. And then I realized that I hadn’t written one! Womp womp.

Sometimes the ideas swirl around in my head until I have to write them down. And then sometimes I have to work hard and pray hard to find the words to say. This writing life can be funny like that.

Never Forgotten

And if I’m being honest, today’s post is not the only thing I’ve ever forgotten! That’s why I make lists. But here’s what I was reminded of this morning…God never forgets! He has promised us that He sees us, He knows us, and He is always there for us.

In Isaiah, God made the same promises to the Israelites,

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
    and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
    I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
    your walls are ever before me.

Isaiah 49:15-16

The testimony today is that we are a part of God, engraved on the palms of His hands. He can’t forget us. And He never will.

And that should bring us comfort. His mind doesn’t work like ours. He doesn’t get distracted like we do. Regardless of what we may forget, He has never forgotten us.

Thank goodness!
